Due to changes in the energy world, such as electric cars and decentralized power generation with wind and solar energy, we need a smarter energy grid, the so-called Smart Grids. With a team of young energetic professionals we want to contribute to this energy transition.

You will be a member of an innovative team in a rapidly developing market.

As a SCADA Software Engineer, you strengthen our development team by helping to develop our innovative solutions. Together with our software architects, engineers, you will be developing state of the art software solutions and contribute to the maintenance of existing software using the newest software tools. Together with your colleges you will realize the software requirements of the customer within a team of highly motivated professionals.

Your main activities are:

  • drawing up the technical design;
  • establish the architecture of the SCADA systems;
  • setting up the ICT environment of the projects;
  • develop SCADA software according to the applicable guidelines, regulations and standards;
  • designing and implementing;
  • Develop SCADA software to meet the final product requirements;
  • Carrying out modification and maintenance work on SCADA software.

We are responsible for the complete technical installations of energy systems in industrial and infrastructural environments: Substations, grid management, solar- and windfarms (on- and offshore) in various markets and sectors, nationally and internationally. Energico services consist of advice, integral design, realization and management. The focus is on the end-user's functionality, experience, technical needs, cost-effectiveness and maintainability.

Within Energico you will work in the TAI (Technical Automation and Information) department. You will be working within the core team "Energy Automation Services". Besides automating (between) stations of grid operators, among others, we are developing sustainability solutions for energy projects related to smart grids. These are largely innovative projects, where we realize new innovative ideas in a commercial environment.

The team consists of young and energetic people with a passion for sustainability, technology and innovation and a high level of expertise and motivation. You can expect a nonhierarchical, open and informal working atmosphere.

  • Bachelor or Master degree in a technical direction (preferably electrical, computer science or similar);
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems (preferably WinCC OA or Ignition);
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104/101, Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA);
  • Experience with programming industrial controllers/PLC (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, Schneider Modicon)
  • Experience with Python, Powershell, C#.
  • Experience with functional logic programming
  • Experience with networking (WLAN, VLAN, RSTP, PRP, VPN)
  • Experience with electrical systems (MV, HV)
  • Ability to read technical documentation and single line diagrams
  • Willingness to learn


Knowledge of and experience with:

  • Experience with Agile SCRUM development methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with the SVN/Git version control system
  • Experience with Vmware/virtualization
  • Experience in wind/solar/renewables industry
