As a result, we not only master the theoretical aspects of IEC 61850 standard, but also know how to design, engineer and test a multi-vendor 61850 system. And we are happy to share our knowledge with you.

Through The Energico Academy, we offer various training courses for professionals in the energy industry; remote training programs as well as practical hands-on courses in our multi-vendor test facility in the Netherlands or at your location.

Management training

  • FOR: CEOs, directors and senior management
  • DURATION: 2 hours
  • WHY: In this training you will learn about why to use the IEC 61850 standard and what impact it has on your organization.

Theoretical training IEC61850

  • FOR: Engineers who will start working with IEC 61850
  • DURATION: 2 days
  • WHY: Build in depth knowledge and understanding of the standard and its history. The training also helps better understand the 61850 object oriented  data modelling and different types of services available within 61850 such as GOOSE, MMS and sampled values. Introduction to top down versus bottom up engineering

Engineering training IEC61850

  • FOR: Engineers,
  • DURATION: 2 days.
  • WHY: Hands-on training with IEC 61850 bottom up or vendor independent top down system engineering with Helinks. Configuring GOOSE, MMS and creating the SCD file for a multi-vendor setup. Uploading ICD files to IEDs. Testing the configured communication between the IEDs

Event analysis IEC61850

  • FOR: Maintenance personnel
  • DURATION: 2 days.
  • WHY: Hands-on training where the participants analyze faults that occur in a IEC 61850 based multi-vendor system. Fault scenarios will be generated in the system used for the training and the participants are expected to identify the faults and resolve them

Cybersecurity and LAN architecture

  • FOR: Engineers, operational management
  • DURATION: 2 days
  • WHY: To learn more about the network design and architecture To get up to speed with the latest developments in the cyber security and learn how to protect your network

 

 

 

 

Powersystem protection

  • FOR: Anyone and everyone who works with protection relays.
  • DURATION: 2-5 days depending on the specific training module
  • WHY: The goal of this training is to educate the participants from the basic to the most complex protection relays used in the high and medium voltage systems. The training includes theory, configuration and testing of the following protection relays:
    • Overcurrent protection
    • Differental protection (line & transformer)
    • Distance protection
    • Busbar protection

What’s this IEC 61850 thing I keep hearing about?

In the same way we are all using smartphones now instead of those old dial phones, the energy industry is rapidly moving from copper to Ethernet cables for the information exchange between critical devices in the electricity network.
